Woodfibre LNG employees volunteer for Vancouver beach cleanup

On July 22, Woodfibre LNG employees stepped away from their desks and into the community, spending the afternoon helping clean up Alexandra Park and English Bay as part of an employee volunteer day.

The cleanup brought together team members from across the business to help remove litter from one of Vancouver’s busiest waterfront parks and beaches. Equipped with gloves, litter pickers and garbage bags, volunteers collected waste throughout the park, beach and surrounding neighbourhood, helping keep the area clean and welcoming for the thousands of people who enjoy it each summer.

For Woodfibre LNG, the day was an opportunity to contribute to a local public space while strengthening connections across our own team. Employees from different departments spent the afternoon working side by side, meeting colleagues and supporting a shared goal outside of the workplace.

Supporting local communities extends beyond the work taking place at our project site. Whether through employee volunteer initiatives, community partnerships or local sponsorships, we are committed to being a positive presence in the communities where our employees live and work.

We would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to make this year’s event a success. Their enthusiasm and willingness to lend a hand helped make a meaningful contribution to a well-used public space while demonstrating the value of working better together.
