You’re Invited: Upcoming Open Houses on Waste Discharge Authorization (WDA) Permit Applications
Oct 29, 2026
Woodfibre LNG is inviting community members to attend upcoming open houses in Squamish and Britannia Beach to learn more about two Waste Discharge Authorization (WDA) permit applications related to Woodfibre’s future operations.
The applications, submitted to the BC Energy Regulator (BCER) under British Columbia’s Environmental Management Act, address the discharge of air emissions and effluent (stormwater and drainage) from the Woodfibre LNG facility.
These applications are part of the regulatory process to prepare the facility for commissioning, startup and future operations. They outline anticipated discharges, examine potential environmental effects, and outline ongoing monitoring efforts.
Community members are encouraged to attend an open house to learn more about the applications, ask questions and speak directly with members of the Woodfibre LNG team. Light refreshments will be available.
