SQUAMISH, BC – We are pleased to announce the opening of the fall intake of Woodfibre LNG’s Community Partnership Program for 2023.

Woodfibre LNG’s Community Partnership Program supports non-profit organizations that make important contributions to the local community through sports and recreation; health and wellness; arts and culture; and local search and rescue and marine safety.

During our spring intake, we provided $151,000 in funding to over 40 local non-profit organizations. This support enabled these groups to accomplish a wide range of objectives, from rescuing and caring for local animals to supporting youth sports and recreation and nurturing the growth of pickleball within our community.

We invite Squamish charity groups and non-profit organizations to apply for up to $5,000 of funding by October 13, 2023.

“Woodfibre LNG’s Community Partnership Program has been supporting hardworking non-profit organizations in Squamish for many years, and it remains a top priority for us to continue to support the important work of local non-profit organizations in the community. We look forward to receiving your submissions and to continuing to support excellent community programming in Squamish,” Christine Kennedy, president, Woodfibre LNG

Here is what some local recipients had to say about the program earlier this year.

“Woodfibre has come up to the plate over and over again with donations year after year and it’s much appreciated,” Rob, Station Leader, RCM-SAR Station Number 4.

“The funding helped buy a cash register – thanks to Woodfibre LNG we now have a new, faster way for customers visiting our gift shop to pay for their purchases,” Julie, Chair, Squamish General Hospital Auxiliary Society.

“Funding is really important to us because we want to provide ice time for our junior curlers and those new to curling too. We also have lots of repairs that need to be done over the years to maintain our rink,” Don, Treasurer, Howe Sound Curling Club.
