Woodfibre LNG Announces 2026 Community Partnership Program Recipients, Supporting 76 Sea to Sky Organizations

Woodfibre LNG today announced the recipients of its 2026 Community Partnership Program, providing 83 grants to 76 non-profit and charitable organizations across Squamish and the Sea to Sky region. Since the program launched in 2021, Woodfibre LNG has granted more than $1 million to community organizations in the region.

This year’s recipients span the organizations that hold the Sea to Sky together: search and rescue teams and volunteer fire departments, the hospital foundation and hospice society, elementary schools and their parent advisory councils, Indigenous organizations, arts and heritage societies, seniors’ programs, food security initiatives, and dozens of local sports clubs from minor hockey to rugby to dragon boat.

For Woodfibre LNG, Squamish is home. It is where the company’s employees will live and raise their families, and where Woodfibre LNG expects to operate for the next 40 years and beyond. With that long-term presence comes a responsibility to support the community in meaningful ways, and Woodfibre LNG is committed to going beyond what is expected or required.

The Community Partnership Program supports registered charities and non-profit organizations located in the District of Squamish and the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District, working in sports and recreation, health and wellness, arts and culture, marine safety, and local search and rescue. Since its launch in 2021, the program has supported more than 200 organizations across the region, and received applications from more than 100 organizations in 2026.

About Woodfibre LNG

The Woodfibre LNG Project is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility that will produce 2.1 million tonnes of LNG for export annually, being built near the community of Squamish on the traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). The Woodfibre LNG Project is owned by Woodfibre LNG Limited Partnership, owned 70 per cent by Pacific Energy Corporation (Canada) Limited and 30 per cent by Enbridge Inc.

Woodfibre LNG is the first industrial project in Canada to recognize a non-treaty Indigenous government, Squamish Nation, as a full environmental regulator. The Woodfibre LNG facility will be the world’s first net zero LNG facility when it is completed in 2027.
