Woodfibre LNG welcomes Fall 2024 Community Partnership Program applications

SQUAMISH, BC – Woodfibre LNG is pleased to announce the opening of the fall intake for its Community Partnership Program for 2024.
Woodfibre LNG’s Community Partnership Program supports non-profit organizations that make important contributions to the local community through sports and recreation, health and wellness, arts and culture, and local search and rescue and marine safety. Squamish and Sea-to-Sky region non-profit organizations are invited to apply for up to $5,000 of funding by October 11, 2024.
“Woodfibre LNG’s Community Partnership Program has been supporting hardworking non-profit organizations in Squamish for many years, and we’re committed to supporting the important work of local non-profit organizations in the community,” said Christine Kennedy, president, Woodfibre LNG, “We look forward to receiving new submissions and to continuing to support excellent community programming in the region”
In the program’s spring intake, $150,000 in funding was provided to 50 local non-profit organizations. This support enabled these groups to accomplish a wide range of objectives, from providing local recreation and sport opportunities to investing in new equipment for first responders.

About Woodfibre LNG
The Woodfibre LNG Project is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility that will produce 2.1 million tonnes of LNG for export annually, being built near the town of Squamish on the traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation). The Woodfibre LNG Project is owned by Woodfibre LNG Limited Partnership, owned 70 per cent by Pacific Energy Corporation (Canada) Limited and 30 per cent by Enbridge Inc. Woodfibre LNG is the first industrial project in Canada to recognize a non-treaty Indigenous government, Squamish Nation, as a full environmental regulator. The Woodfibre LNG facility will be the world’s first net zero LNG facility when it is completed in 2027.
