Woodfibre LNG donates $150,000 to 51 local non-profits

News Release

Nov 14, 2024

Woodfibre LNG is pleased to announce donations totaling $150,000 to 51 local non-profits in Squamish and Squamish Lillooet Regional District in the company’s Fall 2024 contributions through the Community Partnership Program. This follows $150,000 contributed to 50 local non-profits in the program’s Spring 2024 intake.

The Community Partnership Program supports local non-profits that make important contributions to the community through their programs and events in sports, recreation, health and wellness, arts and culture, and search and rescue and marine safety. With intake cycles in the Spring and Fall, non-profits can apply for up to $5,000 in funding once per year per project. Woodfibre LNG also makes annual contributions for The Market food bank, other food security donations and scholarship programming outside the application cycle.

“Non-profit organizations are a foundational part of the community of Squamish and the larger Squamish Lillooet Regional District,” said Christine Kennedy, President of Woodfibre LNG. “Through the Community Partnership Program, we’re able support these groups to implement programs and services that make a real difference for Squamish and area residents.”

“Dividing the funding into Spring and Fall intakes allows non-profits to apply when their seasonal programming plans are well advanced. This fall, we are pleased to contribute to the work and goals of new and returning recipients,” Kennedy added. “We appreciate the dedication of all the organizations that participate in the program and look forward to seeing the positive effects of their work in the coming year.”
