Woodfibre LNG donates $150,000 to 50 local non-profits

Woodfibre LNG is delighted to announce donations totaling $150,000 to 50 local non-profits in Squamish and Squamish Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) as part of the company’s spring intake of the 2024 Community Partnership Program. This follows $134,000 contributed to 36 local non-profits in the program’s Fall 2023 intake.

The Community Partnership Program aims to support local non-profits that make important contributions to the community through their programs and events in sports, recreation, health and wellness, arts and culture, and search and rescue and marine safety. With intake cycles in the spring and fall, non-profits can apply for up to $5,000 in funding once per year per project. Woodfibre LNG’s core annual contributions for The Market, other food security donations and scholarship programming are also supported outside the application cycle.

“Community non-profit groups are a vital element to supporting social and recreational services and improving the quality of life for residents,” said Christine Kennedy, Woodfibre LNG President. “Woodfibre LNG will be part of the community of Squamish over the long term, and it is a priority for us to support the important work these groups do to support and enrich the lives of their neighbours.”

“We’ve seen prior recipients use Community Partnership Program funding to help do amazing things. We’re looking forward to seeing what this round of recipients will accomplish,” continued Kennedy.
