SQUAMISH BC –  Geotechnical work will be getting underway at the Woodfibre LNG site beginning October 11, 2016.

Boreholes will be drilled on land and in the foreshore of the Woodfibre site to get a closer look at soil conditions in and around the structures planned for the proposed LNG facility.

The results will be used as part of the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the Project.

The work is being done within Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s timing window for the protection of fish and fish habitat for Howe Sound (when work may be carried out with the lowest risk to fish and their habitat).

Marine water users may notice an increase in activity at the site during the geotechnical work, which is expected to be complete in about a month.
