Jun 14, 2017

SQUAMISH, BC – Woodfibre LNG Limited and FortisBC are proud to announce the reopening of the Squamish Community Office at 38134 Cleveland Avenue in downtown Squamish.

“On behalf of Woodfibre LNG and FortisBC, we’d like to thank everyone who helped get us back into our Community Office,” said Byng Giraud, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Country Manager, Woodfibre LNG Limited.  “From District of Squamish staff to our landlord, the restoration company, and our dedicated employees, everyone worked hard to ensure we have a safe and comfortable place for open dialogue about our respective projects.”

The Squamish Community Office was temporarily closed on November 3, 2016 due to damage caused by a fire.  No one was in the office at the time of the fire, and no one was injured.  The incident is under investigation by the RCMP. No arrests have been made.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Squamish RCMP and Squamish Fire Rescue for their quick response to the fire, as well as their support in the aftermath,” said Cynthia Des Brisay, Vice President, Midstream Services & Resource Development, FortisBC.  “We’re pleased to be back in the office, and welcome conversations with anyone looking for opportunities or information on our project.”

The Squamish Community Office first opened in November 2014 to offer Squamish residents a convenient location to ask questions about the Woodfibre LNG Project and the Eagle Mountain – Woodfibre Gas Pipeline (EGP) project.

The Community Office will be open to the public Wednesday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm.  FortisBC and Woodfibre LNG staff can also be found at a number of community events in Squamish throughout the busy summer event season.  For an appointment outside of the regular office hours listed above, please call 1.888.801.7929 for Woodfibre LNG and 1-855-380-5784 for FortisBC.
