Project
The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves constructing and operating a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and produce approximately 2.1 million tonnes per year of LNG.
Woodfibre Management Ltd is a privately held Canadian company based in Vancouver and a subsidiary of Pacific Energy Corporation Limited.
Position
The Head of Maintenance Planning and Scheduling is integral to Woodfibre LNG’s dynamic team. You will lead the set-up of all Maintenance systems and procedures for the facility in the early project phases and the recruitment of a competent team. In addition, you will manage maintenance planning and scheduling in the operational phase. The successful candidate will report to the Maintenance Manager and will play an essential part in supporting the company’s objective of becoming a safe, reliable, and efficient LNG producer in BC, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
During the project’s execution phase, the successful applicant will:
- Lead the development of maintenance systems and procedures to support the maintenance activities of the LNG Facility.
- Manage Operational Readiness and Assurance for maintenance.
- Support the Head of Maintenance in the development of the Maintenance department from initial organization design through to staffing, implementation of recruitment, training, and development plan.
- Assist in identifying spares, special tools, mechanical handling requirements, warehousing/storage needs, workshop development, cranes, and equipment.
- Support Quality Assurance of plant and equipment during the project phase.
- Ensure technical writing of Maintenance governance documents.
- Be an active Maintenance team member for the commissioning and start-up of the facility.
- Interface with the project team and LNG Plant Management during commissioning and start-up.
- Support the implementation of the Maintenance Competency Assurance Management Systems.
- Ensure Maintenance procedures have been identified and developed for all appropriate activities under the responsibility.
- Develop the maintenance budget for the facility’s operations readiness and operations phase.
- Ensure monthly progress reporting on operations readiness for Maintenance.
- Support the set-up of the Maintenance service contracts.
- Develop the long-term shutdown plan.
During the Operational phase, the successful applicant will:
- Lead all routine and shutdown Maintenance planning and scheduling activities for the plant.
- Support the LNG facility’s day-to-day maintenance and reliability activities, including monitoring performance and reliability data and implementing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance strategies.
- Manage the Maintenance budget and cost reports.
- Manage competency and assurance for maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Analyze Maintenance effectiveness and update maintenance strategies in the CMMS.
- Ensure all equipment and plant are at maximum availability for safety and production.
- Mentor and coach personnel for continuous improvement and implementation of best practices.
- Support the organization in managing the Maintenance service contracts.
- Ensure maintenance procedures are current and continuously improving.
- Ensure the maintenance team follows, and complies with procedures.
- Ensure all maintenance planning and scheduling tools are current, practical and fit for purpose.
- Manage the maintenance shutdowns for the plant.
- Grow and develop his team competency.
HSSE:
- Ensure 100% compliance with company HSE policies and guidelines.
- Be an active HSE member of the LNG plant leadership team.
- Attend HSE meetings, safety walks, and audits.
- Take timely intervention to mitigate risks and ensure personnel and plant safety.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to influence overall safety behaviour in the plant.
- Initiate safe work practices within Maintenance for mechanical/electrical & instrumentation works.
- Participate in PTW review teams within Maintenance to improve safety for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure Maintenance systems are in place for the safe execution of activities and tasks in the facility.
Other:
- Undertake travel both internationally and locally as required by the company.
- Willing to relocate during the project phase and final operational phase.
- Participate in audits as required by plant management.
- Available for call-out during plant/production upsets.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years in Oil & Gas Production Facilities (LNG preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years in Maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Demonstrated experience in Equipment Strategy Development and Implementation of Maintenance systems for new Oil & Gas Facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in Maintenance Software Implementation of CMMS programs.
- Previous experience in maintenance planning systems.
- Experienced in setting maintenance system priorities and coordination to support production in an Operations Maintenance Coordination role.
- Previous experience in implementing shutdown processes and planning, as well as coordinating shutdowns and supervising a shutdown team.
